Objectives of the workshop were to develop the draft framework for the 5 yrs strategic plan by each DCWBs (Morang, Sunsari and Udaypur) District level stakeholders from Udayapur, Sunsari and Morang, and CCWB staff participated in the workshop.
The workshop was facilitated by the Mr. Gyanendra Shrestha. The workshop was continued for four days. During four days, facilitators shed light on strategic planning and its components. The major components of strategic planning consisted of concept of strategic planning, programme and project cycle, tools for children rights based programming, process/steps/ tools of strategic planning, logical framework, result-based monitoring and evaluation, plan of action etc. Participants worked on the group of concerning districts and prepared a plan of their districts.
Participants of each districts worked on group. Such group works continued until the end of the workshop. Participants drafted their mission, goal and objectives along with complete plan of their districts. At the end of the forth Day, all district- wise group shared the mission, goal, objectives of the strategic planning on child rights in plenary.
All the districts prepared the first draft of Strategic planning. Concerning districts will organize a workshop including all stakeholders in the districts to finalize the strategic planning. When all the suggestions from the district incorporated into it, they will send the final draft to CCWB for further improvement and approval.
Dinesh Hari Adhikary, Secretary, Ministry of Women Children and Social Welfare (MoWCSW) and Tarak Dhital, Executive Director of CCWB also participated in programme on 1 August 2013.
The Secretary said, “ Ministry will collect the resources. DCWBs of each district need to be more strategic and innovative”. He also directed the districts to do consultation with district level stakeholders as soon as possible, take reference from the national plan of action, national goals and assess the resources while finalizing plan.
The Executive Director, thanked to all participants for developing a strategic planning to protect and promote the child rights in the districts. He also directed the DCWBs to integrate the programme with DDCs and VDCs and make a coordinated effort to implement the plan.
In the programme, Laxmeshowr Mahato – ADP manager, World Vision, Kalvan Rai- Manager, Plan Nepal, Jaanaki Rathi, Women Development Officer of Sunsari also spoke on the programme.
